Gift Voucher Giving Guide

In the lead up to the festive season we receive a lot of enquiries about Gift Vouchers, so we've prepared a guide to all the options we offer, to help you decide what's best for you. 

1. Physical Gift Vouchers

We print 3 types of gift voucher: £10, £20 and High Tea for 2 (face value £60).

You can also purchase upgrades to attach to your voucher, including Prosecco, and Birthday Gifts. We'll detail the upgrades available and how to add them to your order below. 

Your guest can use Physical Gift Vouchers on our online booking system and in the cafe to purchase food, drink or gifts. It will not work on our online store. Vouchers are valid for 1 year only and the guest must redeem them before they expire as the system will automatically reject codes after the expiry date. 

If your gift voucher recipient wishes to purchase items from our online store instead of booking in with us, they'll be able to email us and exchange their Physical Gift Voucher for an Online Store gift voucher. The bookings system and the online store run their own separate gift voucher systems, so they aren't automatically interchangeable. However, it's no problem to swap from one to the other! Just email us at info@ladydinahs.co.uk

2. Electronic Gift Vouchers

These really are best if you're short on time. Electronic Gift Vouchers are available for immediate download and you can purchase them in a wider variety of denominations. We offer the following Electronic Gift Voucher values:

  • £10

  • £20

  • £25

  • £30

  • £35

  • £40

  • £50

  • £60

  • £70

  • £75

  • £125 

These values allow you to include enough money for your guest to book in online and also to treat themselves in-store.  

Vouchers are valid for 1 year only and the guest must redeem them before they expire as the system will automatically reject codes after the expiry date. 

Once you've purchased your Electronic Gift Voucher, you'll receive an email with the details. However you can also create a personalised PDF version of your eVoucher to email across to your friend or print off and give it to them in person. The instructions for how this is done are further down on this page.

Your guest can use eVoucher on our online booking system and in the cafe to purchase food, drink or gifts. It will not work on our online store.

2. Online Store Gift Vouchers

Although we don't sell these direct to shoppers, we can convert electronic or bookings vouchers into Online Store vouchers. These vouchers can be used to purchase any retail products from our online store only. 

Vouchers are valid until the original expiry date on the bookings or eVoucher.  The guest must redeem the code before it expires as the system will automatically reject codes after the expiry date. 

The Online Store Gift Voucher swap is a helpful option to be aware of if your gift recipient can not make it to the Cat Emporium in time before the voucher expires, and would like to purchase items to be sent to their home instead.  

How Shipping Works

We don't ship orders on Saturdays and Sundays, so if you need next-day delivery and it's a weekend, please pick up an Electronic Gift Voucher rather than a Physical Gift Voucher as you wont be able to get next-day delivery on a weekend or a Friday after 4pm. 

We ship orders on weekdays, and any orders received after 4pm will be shipped the following business day.

Any orders over £50 are eligible for free 2nd class shipping, so if you have a bit of time, you can get free shipping and delivery if you're happy to wait 3-5 days.

Last Postage Dates of 2018 - Post Office

We provide these postage dates for reference only - neither the Post Office nor us can guarantee delivery. Usually at this time of year there is a much higher rate of lost post, delivery problems and all sorts.

If you're cutting it fine and not sure you'll make the shipping dates, don't forget you can play it safe with an eVoucher. You also can provide the recipients address and as us to post it directly to their house instead of your own. 

Personalised Messages

1. Physical Gift Vouchers

We can add a personalised message for you. We write them on the back of a Lady Dinah's postcard and pop it in with your order, so please only write a message that will fit on the back of a postcard! You can add your personalised message during the checkout process when you're given the option to add notes to your order. 

If you want us to hide the return address, do let us know, but please be aware that this means we will not receive any returned mail and your gift may end up in the dead letter office if there is a delivery problem. 

We do not put any Lady Dinah's branding on the exterior envelope, but we do stick a cat sticker on most of them. Let us know if you'd rather we didn't! 

2. Electronic Gift Vouchers

You can add your own personal message to Electronic Gift Vouchers! When you complete your purchase you will receive the details in an email. That email will contain a yellow button labelled 'Create a Personalized gift card.'

Click this button and it will take you to our website where you can add a message and choose an image for your gift voucher. 

3. Online Store Gift Vouchers

You can not purchase these from our website or personalise them, currently they are primarily offered as an exchange for bookings vouchers that are nearing expiry.

This to prevent confusion when shopping online - in the past we had guests purchasing the wrong kind of voucher with enough frequency that taking away one option and favouring the other seemed wisest. We can still sell Online Store Gift Vouchers by request, though. 

If you know your gift recipient definitely would like to shop online with us rather than make a booking, please email us at info@ladydinahs.co.uk to arrange to purchase a voucher that can be used for our online shop. 

Upgrades

You can add the following upgrades to any Gift Voucher:

  • Birthday Packs (prices vary)

  • Cafe Information Booklet + £3.50

  • 200CL Prosecco + £10

 Birthday Pack

The £12 Birthday Pack includes a cupcake and is designed to be added to an Standard Entry booking, and is best paired up with a £10 or £20 voucher. 

The £9 Birthday Pack contains only a mug and a card and it's designed to be added to a High Tea. The High Tea already contains a cupcake, so we offer this version of the pack so that it's not necessary to buy 2 cupcakes. 

Cafe Information Booklet

The Cafe Information Booklet is a helpful addition if your guest doesn't know about our cafe. It includes information about how we started up, profiles of the cats and some cat care tips to help your friend get the best out of their visit. 

Prosecco

Treat your guest to a small bottle of rose or gold Prosecco! Your guest can choose which colour they'd enjoy on arrival.

Please note before purchasing that these are mini bottles.

As a cafe with live animals, we're very careful about responsible alcohol service and we do not serve full size bottles. The 200Cl bottles will pour 2 x sparkling wine flutes, enough for two guests to enjoy a sparkling upgrade to their High Tea service. 

Other items

You can also purchase any items from our online store and add them to the booking. 

Although we can hold them items for collection, we actually recommend having items shipped either to yourself or directly to the recipient. We find that, often, gift recipients forget to let us know when they create their booking, or they do not know/forget that they are supposed to collect their items!

Because we can only track who purchases the vouchers & upgrades and we don't know who receives them, we're not able to offer much support with this, so shipping the items rather than collecting them is the more reliable way to go. 

How to purchase upgrades

If you purchase a Physical Gift Voucher

Add the upgrades to your cart via the online store and purchase them along with the voucher.

We'll then create a voucher code that is worth the total of all the items combined and we'll include a note for your gift recipient indicating they've been upgraded.

The gift recipient be instructed to apply the upgrades you've bought for them when they place their booking. 

Please make sure you purchase any upgrades at the same time that you purchase the voucher. If you purchase them separately, there will be delays as we will have to void and reissue the voucher code to include the upgrades you've purchased. 

If you purchase an eVoucher

To add upgrades to an eVoucher, just add on the value of the upgrades and buy a voucher large enough to cover the total cost. So if you want to give your friend High Tea for 2 with Prosecco, simply buy a £70 voucher.

Make sure you personalise the voucher to let your friend know that you've upgraded them, as they'll need to claim their upgrade when they book themselves in. The upgrades are offered during the bookings process, so they won't miss the opportunity to add them on!
