This privacy notice has been prepared to help users of our website understand and control how Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium obtains, collects and uses their data. 

How we collect data

1. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to keep an eye on our website and make sure people can find the information they are looking for, see which pages they're leaving our site and which pages they look at the most, for example. The data that is tracked is presented in aggregate and it's not possible to see one individual person's journey through our side and their personal information.

Under the Google Analytics terms of service, it is prohibited to track Personally Identifiable Information.

This means we don't collect anything about you personally with Analytics. If you're reading this now, we will have tracked that a person visited our site and read our Privacy Policy, but that's all we would know. 

2. Purchase information in our online store

If you buy something from our shop, we store all the information about that sale. This enables us to ship your goods, process refunds, track past purchases and offer help if you're having trouble. We use Shopify, which is PCI compliant and we have a security certificate and use SSL to keep your data safe. 

3. Booking Data

If you book with us, we have access to all the information you have provided to us to secure your booking, with the exception of your credit card details. This includes any piece of data you choose to enter, and may include your name, email address, phone number and birthday. 

Your booking details are stored in a system called Bookeo, where we keep all booking records. Booking records are automatically deleted from our booking system after 2 years. 

4. Payment information on our Payment Gateways

If you've purchased an item or made a booking and paid for it online, depending on how you've paid, one of our two payment gateways (PayPal and Stripe) will store transaction data, including your name, billing address and card information.

Of this information, we can only access your transaction information, name and billing address.  We don't have access to your credit card information, this data is sent securely and is stored only with the payment gateway provider. 

5. eNewsletter signup

If you opt-in to receive our eNewsletter during the bookings process, the shopping process or via a form on our site; the name and email address you provide is stored in Mailchimp, our eNewsletter system. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We never add users to our mailing system without your consent (what would be the point of that?) and there are no automations in place to do this, you will only be added if you specifically add yourself. 

In compliance with GDPR, from May 25 we will also require a second opt-in from all users in order to add them to our mailing list. 

6. Bookkeeping software

Our online store sales data is synced with our book-keeping system, so when you purchase something from our online store, a sales invoice is generated. This sales invoice is stored in Xero, and will contain your name, email address, shipping address and the items you purchased. 

7. Email History

All our email exchanges with our guests are stored within Gmail. 

Who has access to your data?

Our management and supervisor team have access to data stored in the following systems: 

  • Mailchimp
  • Bookeo
  • Stripe (excluding credit card data)
  • Paypal (excluding credit card data)
  • Shopify
  • Google Analytics

Each of the above Third Party software providers also have access to your data.

Each provider, including us, has to comply with GDPR and you can contact them to request a full breakdown of what data they have stored about you, and you can contact them to request that all the data they have about you be deleted.

However, please bear in mind that if you ask us to delete any data we store about your bookings and purchases, this will mean there is no proof of purchase or mechanism by which we could issue refunds, track missing packages, maintain bookings and offer the services that are essential to enjoying our cafe and gift shop. 

Who do we share your details with?

Nobody. Any data you've shared with us is stored on the systems mentioned above, so anyone involved in managing those systems will have access by necessity, but we never sell or share our enewsletter signup list, phone numbers, names or anything else.
